QUINCOM INNOVATION AWARDS FOR SCHOOLS

Oxford Trust first set up this awards scheme with sponsorship from the Institute of Engineering and Technology a number of years ago to encourage the development of local students' technology projects. The award scheme proved to be a great success with the students producing work of a very high standard. Quincom Ltd has taken the award scheme on this year.

In Brief...

The scheme provides bursaries of up to £150 to worthy applicantions either as part of an academic or extra curricular project. Applicants are required to contact a technical advisor to enhance their projects further. The technical advisor will play a crucial part in the development of the projects; in previous years it has been noted that the better projects came from those who had a strong link with their TA. With the financial support in the form of the bursary we hope that this may open more doors for the production of high quality prototypes.

How it works...

  • Applications from students studying in Oxfordshire are welcome up to 21st December 2007
  • Once the application has been received, Quincom will arrange a visit to discuss the scheme and the student’s project as well as answer any queries
  • One week after the visit, students will be notified if they have won an award
  • A second visit will be made early in 2008 to monitor progress
  • Technical Advisors - Students must meet with their technical advisor at least once, preferably at their place of work.

Innovation Awards Exhibition...

The Innovation Awards will be celebrated with an exhibition during the summer of 2008 which all award holders will be expected to attend. The exhbition will provide an ideal chance for the general public to view the projects and celebrate the achievements of the students.
